Default Body sculpting - when things just aren't perfect

I took some pictures of a friend of my girlfriend's this weekend. At the risk of being overly critical, I was wondering if anyone had any advice for photoshopping hands. She was a lovely girl for the most part, but she does NOT have delicate hands, and on top of that she chews her nails really bad. I tried warping her fingers slightly to stretch them out, but feel like that made her hands look a little odd.

Advice, besides just being more careful posing? Part of me feels like if anyone looks at that picture and gets focused on the hands, I've already screwed up, but the other part of me just wants the whole thing to be perfect.

When I look at this picture, the last thing that I see are the hands. Her face is beautiful and the lighting is perfect. I only noticed the hands after you said something. Honestly, I would not worry about it.

It is only her one hand (her left) that does look a little strange. The fact that it crosses her body draws your eye to it also. You could replace it with a different shot of her hand but that is not easy to do and may not be worth the effort. I would suggest you file this in the back of you mind and just pay more attention to it during future shoots.

Honestly her hand does not look bad. I noticed the big protrusion of hair sticking out of the back of her head and the fact that you chopped off the leg at the knee before the hand. Anyways the reason that the hand looks odd is because it is turned flat to the camera. If you had angled the hand a little bit then it would not take up so much of the frame and you would not notice it as much.

The liquify tool is probably best for any sort of sculpting. In PS Elements you can find it under Filters>Distort>Liquify.
