Default A big rave for Noiseware!

I wasn't sure where to post this, but thought here was best. So I hope I'm right! LOL!

Alrighty, long story short....I messed up. LOL! We'll just say I shot a whole session at ISO 1600. I know, I know.....please no lectures. All I can say is I was frantic. I couldn't believe what I had done. So I started the long thought process of what I was going to do. The pictures were sooooo grainy. Well, I decided to turn to THESE GUYS for help. All I can say is the Noiseware plug-in saved it all! I am so absoultely thankful. So I had to give a huge rave review for this program.

Now, I won't show any pictures from that actual shoot (as I wouldn't want my wonderful clients knowing I messed up). But I will show you an example of a before and after from one of my personal pictures.

Now, I have done absolutely no editing to these. I only converted from RAW to JPEG on the first one. Then I applied the Noiseware plug-in, and got the second one. I've included links to the large sizes so you can zoom and see the difference if you like (for some reason I can't figure out why I can't post the original size....does it have to do with not having a pro flickr account maybe?). I used the 'full noise reduction' setting (which seems to be the strongest settings (there are various ones). Take a look!

What does this program do that you can't do in either PS or Lightroom?

I'm not quite sure what you're asking. I am still pretty unfamiliar with it full capabilities (but I'm having fun experimenting with it). But I'll try to answer your question. Noiseware is a Photoshop plug-in. So I use it in Photoshop. One click on the button and it removes all the noise from the picture. So it took literally 2 seconds to 'fix' what I had done wrong by shooting at IS0 1600.

I guess it's preference really. I use noiseware and I have found it saves alot of time when doing multiple photos.
