Question How do you feel about actions?

I'm just now starting to learn and play around with actions and I was curious on how others feel about using actions. Do you like or dislike using them? If you use someone else's actions do you feel like you didn't do the touching up or the photoshopping work? Let me know your thoughts. :]

I like actions, they are a very powerful. I have a handful of them that I use from time to time. A lot of times when I have to do the same task to a bunch of files, I'll create an action and reduce the work to just one keystroke. I know I should save them but I just am not that organized.

aww man I dont think I could live with out my actions. They save me so much time. Also when I get a new photo and I draw a complete blank as to how I want to process it I can just run a bunch of the actions I made up before and see what the image will look like since I always program my actions to be non destructive. I just click on and off the visibility of that group or layer and see if I like it or not. Very very very handy and time saving. Although programing the actions in the first time can be a pain in the butt if you dont know what you are doing.

I use actions all the time but they are my own. I don't use anyone else's actions. They save a ton of time.

Thanks everyone! :]

I haven't quite figured out how to do my own actions yet. I'm just fooling around with some free ones for now, but I'm learning a lot by just playing with them and I'm realising more and more just how handy they really are.

I started using free actions to see how they worked, too. After awhile you start figuring it out - slowly in my case - and start writing your own. Incredibly handy once you know how!

Creating actions is necessary for any kind of automation, and that's wicked useful!

How can you not love them? I have around 20 actions that saves me from redundancy and without them I would waste hours every month clicking and selecting menus etc. etc.

Any program similar to Photoshop without actions is useless to me.

Almost my actions are mine.
