Greetings,
My niece took an images of hers to this kiosk at a local mall operated by a couple of young kids to have it colorized and this is the results. She dropped off her images and was told to pick it up within an hour. She couldn't actually see how it was done. My question is, using PS CS4, can I create this type of image and if so, what tools would be the most appropriate for this process ? Thank you...Joe |

Topaz Adjust also has some settings in the Simplify version I beleive that produces cartoon effects

You can use Posterize and the Gradient Map filter to more or less get the look of the photo you posted. Both of those are under the Image>Adjustments menu. You can also use a second layer set to the Color blend mode to affect the Posterized image.
For something a bit more sophisticated with more options, we also develop a Photoshop filter that does a variety of cartoon and illustrative effects, called ToonIt. (Adobe Photoshop Plugins and Filters :: Digital Photography Special Effects :: Photoshop, Photoshop Elements :: Digital Anarchy) cheers, Jim Tierney |

Sorry... didn't realize the link in the prior post would show the name of the page (with SEO optimization wording and all that junk). Should just be digitalanarchy.com.
New forum (for me), new formatting challenges. And, uh, you know... learning how to use that Preview Post button. :-P cheers, Jim Tierney |
