do you know if I can take exposures automatically from the SLR(so there is no motion or displacement), specifically Canon 1000D (thats the one that I wanna buy). And do you know what is the max number of photos with different exposures that it can take? is it possible 9 photos?

This HDR for example, has 9 exposures:

I think it is a High Dynamic Range image too. The birds threw me off at first, but then I found the same image in elsewhere in Flickr without the birds and a little less pop. Even so, it is a great image.

It is an amazing photograph. It gets me fired up to try some HDR photography.

pihoni,

The D1000 can bracket the exposure up to +2 EV and -2EV. My older Canon can take only three images at a time, I suspect the same of the D1000. To get around that limitation, you could manually overide the exposure, changing the shutter speed.

Haven't used 1000D but like steve78412 said you can use auto exposure bracketing which means the camera will automatically take three photos in a row, one normal exposure, one at -2ev and one at +2ev. That most likely is the only possibility without any external gear or manual fiddling.

But 3 exposures can be plenty.
