Unhappy How to use GIMP

Hey all, I just downloaded GIMP version 2.6.6 and was wondering if anyone new how to use a certain feature. I have a pic and I want to exchange the sky(because it makes the photo look bad) for another sky. I have a sky but I'm unsure of how to go about it. I figured that you use the wand thing to click on the sky and then I get lost, any assistance would be great. cheers

In your particular case, it sounds like you need to learn about layers and layer masks - that might help you identify tutorials of particular use from the helpful site PrimeTime pointed to.
