Default Does anyone use Portraiture for Photoshop?

This may have been asked before but I am trying to figure out what the best process for getting portraits to look smooth but sharp? I see other photographs that have been processed that have smooth skin, hair and eyes that stand out. I was just wondering what others preferred as the technique used and if anyone has used "Portraiture" a friend suggested it but had not used it. Any advice would be helpful.

I personally can't say i've ever heard of Portraiture, but i may look into it as a good portrait touch up can take several hours if i'm really going for it. And something that could even just half that time would be brilliant.

I generally just make excessive use of the healing brush tool, levels and like, and the burn and dodge tool a touch in around the eyes.
