Default How to add images together using layers??

Well, I just started trying to edit my photos, and I was wondering how exactly can i add two images together into one image by using layers. The part that I was stuck with was how do I even open the files together??
Any help would be a GREAT help!
Thanks

Are you using photoshop?

If so, google layer masks.

To open more than one photo in PS, click on the files you want to open and drag then into the open PS window. Or right click and open in PS.

To move a photo into another photo in PS, have the files open in PS push "f" three times to arrange windows and then push "v" to select the move tool. Then just click on the image you want to move and drag into the other images window.

I hope that makes sense.

Cheers

Which photos are you trying to add together? If you post them here or link to them we may be able to help you further

You can drag them both into Elements (or photoshop) as two separate images then right click on one and select duplicate layer. The pop up should ask which of the open images you would like to create the duplicated layer in. Thats how I do it

yea, like DogHeadGod says.. i'll open both images in photoshop, i'll go to one of them, then go to Layer --> Duplicate Layer, then just choose the destination as the other photo so it goes above the other photo.

I'll remember that one. I usually either rely on "snapping" or select both layers and align both centres if snapping doesn't work.
