I found this manipulated photo on Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/3303810...ol-906851@N24/) and would love to be able to duplicate the effect of the floating balls and the lines that are included in the layout. I have the kaleidoscope plug-in and I know how to use it. I know how to do the frame and I know how to work with layers.
What I don't know, and have been unable to find a tutorial on, is how to make the balls/spheres from the kaleioscope. Some of the balls are kinda flat, but others are more spherical, more so than just using the sphere distortion tool in PS. Are there any tricks to making spheres look more 3-D? I also am not sure how to do the flowing lines she has on the image. Can anyone point me in the right direction? BTW, I use Photoshop Elements 6. Thanks, Anne |

The kaleidoscope flowers look quite similar to those generated by photoshop's pattern creator. Also, if i'm trying to make something look really circle i apply the sphere distortion with a value of 100%, then again with 50%, then i go to Filter >> render >> lighting effects... Then i use either the default or spotlight light at an appropriate angle and strength, which is what this person has done with their spheres as you can see the brightness of the light in the top left of their spheres.
Hope i helped

No problem
When you say streamers do you mean the sort of swishy bits in the back ground?I shall assume you do mean the swishy bits, and get on to creating some after my dinner and if you like them i'll tell you how i made them

I had a bash at making some swishy bits there. They are by no means perfect but saying that i can't say i've ever made any before so its not too bad for a first attempt
I might tweak them a bit a later date.What d'you think?
