Question Lowest DPI/PPI for Giclee?

I have an image I want to get a giclee print of at 3-4 ft long edge...To get that without major scaling the PPI will be around 100...that seems low to me, but I have no experience with Giclee printing.

Any opinions?

Your help is appreciated!

How far away are you likely to view the final result from? Bigger prints tend to be seen from further back and don't need the high resolution you might require for smaller pictures - get up close to an advertising billboard and the dots will probably be visible!

Even then, at 100ppi, youre likely going to be fairly happy with it up close too.

Cool, thanks guys. I know about viewing distance; minimum for this will probably be 3-4ft.

sk66 I was kind of wondering the same thing about the ppi (around 100) myself. I looked it up online and came across a good idea. Basically it said to print the picture at the ppi that you were thinking of having it printed at. I took a picture that I was thinking about printing at 24 x 36 and set it at that size in PS then printed it on a 5 x 7 piece of paper. I just had a section of the picture but it let me know that looking at it from a few feet away it looked fine without having to spend the cash on something I wasn't sure of. Not sure about the giclee printing though.
