If you shot it in RAW, you could combine 2 pics together. Pic 1 adjust the exposure for the forground(in raw), and pic 2 adjust the exposure for the sky(in raw). Then make a layer mask for the sky and combine the 2 images.

Hey cool, that's what i've been trying to do. I'm just having a hard time getting the image to look natural.... unfortunately i didn't shoot in RAW which makes the whole process quite interesting... painstaking layer mask work
but the picture is worth IMO

I hear a lot of talk about "Layer Masking" and I can find it on my PS, but I want to know what I am supposed to do with it? What does it actually do?And another thing.. How can I do feathering? I can find it under "Modify" but it's never where I can click it and actually use it. Any tips?

You can try this (if you have the GIMP) is quite easy:

why not just remove the sky from the original photo using your preferred method then replace it with a stock sky. Use a few adjustments to make it match the rest of the photo. Then do your PPing.
the site i use for most of my free stock images is: http://www.sxc.hu/index.phtml
