Default eye pop

Depending on which photo editing software you use, there's a few ways to do this..

First, zoom in (with your feet, doing it with the lens might not be the best option) and try to fill the frame with the eyes. If this isn't possible, try to light up the eyes more either with direct or bounced light.

Or in processing, find your color saturation tool... (any editing software should have it, in PS, it's under "images/adjustments/hue and saturation) and try saturating the green only, just a little bit, just so it stands out but not so it looks evil and reptilian.

Of course, having your subject wear clothing that will bring out the color in their eyes always helps. If you're going for dark green, try a green or dark green shirt.

Hope this helps!

Here's another option. I use Photoshop CS4 but you can use your software of choice.

Zoom in on the eye to make it almost fill the frame. Make a selection of the iris alone and apply a "Curves" adjustment to it. Select the Green channel and increase the center line from the middle to the upper left corner. Season to taste.

Once you have that done select white as your color and add a nice "Catch Light" to the eye.

Hope that gives you another option to try.
