Can someone please help me on how to make my watermark using Gimp?
I'm hopeless with computers and have been trying for ages and just can't work it out. I can't even get a duplicate image in the 1st place and rename it. I've looked at tutorials but need it in real easy step by step instructions Any help appreciated |

If you just want normal text just click the text tool and click on the image somewhere. Type your text "eric-higgins.com" make it the color you want (in the text toolbox, should be visible when workign in the text tool), the size you want (text toolbox), set the transparency (in the layers/channels toolbar), rotate it if you want (look for this I think it's under transform?).
If you want to create some type of a graphic then make a new image. New images come in white for me so select "new layer" under 'image' or 'layers' or something. select "transparency" and click done or ok or whatever. Now delete the "background" layer (right click on "background" in the layers/channels window and select "delete layer"). Now all you have is a transparency. Now go about making your logo (I don't know what you want here so you're on your own). If you wanted to duplicate an image you would just open the one you want to duplicate and go 'file' > 'Save as' and put in a different name/save it in a different spot/save it in a different format etc.
