Default saving a bee....

ok, so i know that there are alot of things wrong with this photo. but for some reason i cant bring myself to delete it! is there anything that i can do to make this photo work? it obviously needs to be lightened, the flower seems to be out of focus (not much can be done aboutthat now though)....any help appreciated!

i agree the 3rd of your edits is the best. thanks for showing me some of your versions.... i think my main problem that im having with my editing is that i want the flower and bee to be alittle sharper then the rest. beacuse i like the softness of the photo, but want the bee and his flower to be sharper. then lightened and probably a hint of saturation. it just seems that every time i try to do it something still doesnt work for me, i cant put my finger on it!?!

I played around with it somewhat. Let me know what you think of it.

The first photo is the original. The second one I reworked in GIMP. Just sharpened a tad (not much could be done to the flower but the bee came out slightly better), added new layer and selected screen, blurred background to take out some of the noise and focus on flower, bumped up brightness and contrast. Hope it helps!!!!!

Hello mate,
thanks for the mail, I have had a look at the image for you and I must say I like the composition, shame about the focus being soft but I have tried to adjust it the way you wanted it done. Let me know what you think, if possible can you send me the original image or a link to the original and I will see what I can do with that. Hope all is well with you? will drop you a line later to let you know what's happening this side of the pond.
Take care of yourself and the family.
