I have a photo that I am attaching and it has really dark shadows caused by the body, used fill flash but was a little too much I guess....I have tried "painting" over the darkness specifically the darkest shadows right next to her arm and hand which she wants lightened but am drawing a blank. Any suggestions? Thanks

You can try to use Curves or Levels selectively to lighten that section, but it's very difficult to do - I would probably clone stamp out that area.

Hi, thanks for your response, but I found an idea in Scott Kelby's book "The photoshop cs2Book for digital photographers" about burning and dodging and I think it now looks good and feel that the customer will be pleased. What do you think?
