Default Epson Stylus 1400 Printer - Blue cast

Hi, I am just wondering if anybody has any advise for me regarding a problem with my Epson Stylus 1400 A3 printer. I have been using this printer for a while now to print A3 colour images and the odd monochrome image.

My problem is a blue cast appearing on B&W / Monochrome prints. Its very frustrating as a lot of ink is wasted when an A3 screws up by adding patches of blue cast It doesn't happen on all B&W / monochrome prints but it happened yesterday on 2 out of 3.

I am using Photoshop CS3 to produce these B&W images.

Not sure what the problem is with: printer, printer driver, CS3, profiles?

Any help would be great...
Thanks

When printing check your advanced settings. Make sure you have the type of paper you are using checked, that you are printing a photo and above all, uncheck the photo enhance button.
Epson is known for this type of thing.
Also be sure to check the black and white print button instead of color. Sorry I dont have more technical help but I have the same printer and had the same issue and these steps have helped a lot.

IF you want B & W monotone, you are using photoshop you need to into Image, Adjustments, color balance and add red. This takes out some of the bluish tint.
good luck
