I've tried a few HDR shots using Photomatix.
Have fiddled with various settings and such like - but I often find, using the most pleasing settings for 90% of the photo there is a "halo" of lightness around details such as trees (or infact anything without a crisp edge). e.g: ![]() Not a great photo anyway, I think an ND filter would've acheived the affect I was after. but clearly illustrates the halo effect. Is there a specific setting that affects this?

DigiDave is spot on the light smoothing slider is where you can get rid of it.
Some shots just wond't do exactly what you want.....I've played quite a bit with photomatix and also notice that if you adjust the highlight smoothing will sometimes get rid of it. ALthough in this shot i dont believe that will work since the far horizon is more towards the white side as opposed to the blues.
