Angry help please :(

The conditions were terrible.. Being my mom's living room.. Horrible lighting and probably every other wrong thing you can think of.. Well, I guess this particular picture was taken outside.. but it was dark.. and lit by the porch lamp.. Is there anything that can help this at all? Or are they all just junk?

whoa? the flash fired on this pic? either you set a slower shutterspeed or turn up your exposure bias. i wouldn't recommend to turn up the ISO settings to 1600

i do have a photoshop and what i did to your picture is adjust the levels... and use the nik software (plugin) to at least minimize the noise... (i don't have noise ninja)

I had a go with yr image and added some fill light and then some shadow , level it looks a lot better but there is so much noise in the original I wont post the result , noise ninja would then be the next obvious step which I dont have , they are rescuable just depends on what you have at yr disposal .

Thanks for the help.. Everything I had planned to do for the pictures went wrong.. I had an awesome outside setting set up for them.. But then the group decided to change their plans and eat WAY late.. So by the time they got back it was dark.. I got stuck in a corner so all the photo-moms could flash everyone to death.. I talk to my sister ( she is the one with out the boy) and the other girl.. We are going to recreate the prom look and reshoot again.. in daylight.. outside..

This is a tuff one. There was just so much noise that it just isnt going to look right. The first one I did my best at removing the noise and brightening it up. The second, I decided the better way to go is to just turn it into a watercolor painting

wow....looks really under exposed. When I went into curves to lighten it up, there was so much grain. I then went into noise ninja to fix, but really underexposed.

From My Pictures fix

I played with it a bit , there is a lot of noise & I did not like the results I got when I tried to remove the noise & found that just playing a bit with the contrast & brightening it a bit worked pretty well , I added a touch of warmth to help with the noise , it is a bit flat but I think it helped a lot and I only used Picassa

I couldn't help but take up the challenge. Didn't care for the background, so I did a little cloning. Added a little Saturation & Color. All after running through NeatImage to get rid of the noise. Oh yeah, just to give it a little more sharpness, I used High Pass Sharpening instead of Unsharp mask sharpening.

I have these set to private on my Flickr account. I hope you don't mind.

Default Little tip

If you ever have an underexposed or overexposed shot try this.

Photoshop, dupicate layer blend multiply for overexposed
Photoshop, duplicate layer blend screen for underexposed.

I used that method for this pic, (screen), But I did it twice, first time 100% opacity then merged all and then second time 30-50% opacity, Then Auto correct and last noise reduction.

Hope that helps a bit.
Pete
