Default Bit stuck for ideas... Your help would be great!

Hey guys,

I got a new halogen 1000W worklight the other day for some smoke photography stuff, all panned out well, and I just realised this one going through them all;

And it looks *amazingly* like a rhythmic gymnast with ribbons... it's a bit hard to see but it's there It was quite a feminine smoke shoot, a lot of the others (in my flickr down the bottom there) had feminine figures...

Anyway, I was just trying to think of how I could sort of... separate the "gymnast" from the "ribbons" (with the prerequisite that you can see them... haha). I went to add a new layer and put a crude marquee around the 'gymnast' used gradient tool and went to blend them. Yes, in case you are wondering, I am not at all experienced in photoshop

Thanks in advance for any help!

Love it.

Interesting idea, but not exactly what I meant. Sorry, I mustn't have explained very well.

I mean a way to "separate" the gymnast form from the rest... not physically separate, just to identify them differently.

I got some RAM yesterday which means I can actually use Photoshop, and while listening to Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (seriously recommend Beatles tracks in post-processing) I went the same route as some of my other smoke shots (flickr down the bottom in my sig).

Burned all the background noise out (which affected some of the wispy smoke because it was very ambiguous) with the burn tool, lasso'd the 'ribbons' ctrl+U ->colorize and adjusted saturation to about 85, hue to desired hue, ctrl+shift+I and the same thing for the gymnast. I then blurred and smudged the line between the 2 hues/forms to make it look less clear cut, and more gradual. Still looks a bit clear cut between the two colours though...

Thanks for your time and effort, though! It's an interesting idea.
