@kencaleno

nice. i haven't tried this on close-ups though...

here's another observation on the effect...
i tried to do another photo...

i basically do the orton effect, then the rarindra as seen on dpreview then redo the orton effect again... then create a photo filter warming effect...

@Ken, Nice landscape shot! isn't it the place where you took the duck photo?

another observation to rirandra effect......

1. Rirandra effect does have a warm color due to the yellowish overlays... however,
It should have little to no effect on the subject.
2. Orton effect compliments Riranda, but... doing orton effect softens the subjects and the background too much... (i hope there's a solution to this...)
3. I think it would be best to have a 4 layer first to do this...
a. A copy layer of the subject.
b. A copy layer of the foreground
c. A copy layer of the Background
d. and a layer for the whole pic.
i did observe that somehow the picture seems life-like.. 3D like but in painting...

(could somebody please comment on this? i might be wrong...)

here's the 4 layer start example attempt on rarindra effect...

can't seem to get how to fuse the subject to the background...
