for ORTON effect...
1st i duplicate the picture (A), and on duplicate picture (B)...i use blend optiong, select screen... afterthat...duplicate (B), and use blend option...and select multiply (C) using (C)..then i use blur effect (select gaugasian blur) - 4.5 for radius if the picture seems to be too dark...use duplicate (A) and blend screen again for LOMO effect... i just use lasso tool (select 80pxfor the feather) - make a circle (for those that you wanted to highlight) then invert selection..... duplicate layer 1st...and go to adjustment levels....change input levels from 1.00 to 0.4 (or up to you how dark you want...smaller darken) - merge both layer then....duplicate layer again... use adjustment curves...make a S curve create another layer...paint black use blend options...select hue...opacity 40 % and then merge layer again... change mode to LAB color... got to channel and select lightness only ..then go filter, sharpen..unsharp mask ..amount and radius to be 50 (or up to you)... change to RGB mode again..tats all... 2 combine both effect..i start using LOMO 1st then ORTON effect.... |

Hi, I have what I think is a concise and clear tutorial for Orton Effect on my blog. This method has always given me the best results and gives you a way to preview the effect before you apply it, taking some of the guess work out of it. Check it out and let me know if you liked it!
