I have just recieved my new macbook pro with aperture 2. Can anyone tell me how to invert my image? I am trying my hand at smoke shooting but I can figure out how to invert the image. Do I need PS CS4? Thanks in advance.

I dont know aperture, generally is COMMAND+i

From the sounds of it, you can't do it in Aperture without a plugin. But, here's a link to a plugin that might work for you. I'd recommend duplicating your image before applying it though just so you don't loose the original if you decide you want the black background at some point.
