Default What would you recommend

I had my first infant shoot last weekend and my lighting wasnt quite right. I love this shot but am unsure of the best way to dim down the glare on the ribbon. I am fairly new to photoshop but have been using the trusty instructional videos .

Any recommendations would be very helpful.

Thank You

Firstly this is one of the cutest infant shots I have seen, and very creative..... If youare unhappy w the light on the center of the ribbon, there are several ways of removing,I played with it a bit and willl post for you, hope you dont mind. If you like the change and want to know what I did let me know Id be happy to explain. Here is the light removed

If you want to remove the glare while you are shooting, there are a few options. One is to use a different ribbon which doesn't reflect. Another is to move your lighting sources, for example to above or the sides and above. Finally, you could try (if your lighting is bright enough... it probably is) using a polarizer to reduce the glare. I'm not an expert in portraits though, so perhaps there is a reason not to use a polarizer indoors.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

ocnsport please share with me what you did. I like the lens flare also. I dont know if i am so used to looking at the image with a hotspot or what, but after seeing the image without the light i'm having a hard time choosing which one I like better. Oh the decisions : )

I used the magnetic lasso tool to ct a peice of the ribbon just above the hot spots, right clicked and seleceted layer via copy, then using the move tool slid it down over the hot spots, selected the brush tool set to clear 100% opacity and cleaned up the edges so the ribbon lined up nicely, then selected the blur brush and went over the ribbon until the colors blended well together, You can do it more than what I did but I stopped when I felt it looked good. Then flattened and saved and thats it. The lens flare I just selected lens flare in the filter menu, placed it on the newly darkened area and set the size of it to I think 50, then hit apply... took all of two minutes but I like the effects overall. Hope you can use this
