Default Mountaineering photo - Possible improvements?

Dear all, I am looking to print to following picture as a present for a friend (the one in the picture!). Before I send it off to get printed I would like to get your opinions on the following:

1. Crop off the top and bottom creating a panorama?
2. Do the colours need slightly adjusting?
3. Type of medium to print it on? i'm planning on printing at about A1 size

If any of you would like to improve the image in your photo editing software please feel free to do so - I would greatly appreciate it! But if so please let me know what you did so i can learn.

Deep Powder

Thanks a lot!

Cropping a bit off the top and bottom would work, but then you run into print-size and frame-size issues.
