Default How do you achieve this look

I been trying, but unsuccesfully processing my photographs in photoshop to achieve this look. I just love the pastel and soft effect with a hint of color tint, but i just couldn't figure out how to do it. Any advices or pointer is fully appreciated

most of these photos seem to be taking with fast glass that lets them only have a very small amount of an image in focus at any one time. The rest just seems to be hue/colouring difference all tho it is a little late here and my brain isnt working so good so i could be wrong

It would help if you had a sample of an img that you are trying to edit to get this effect.. the narrow depth of field can be faked to some extent but its normally a feature of large sensors and fast glass.

That's definitely just a narrow DoF. It can be done in post, but it's SUCH a hassle. Canon and Nikon both make uber cheap 50mm f/1.8 lenses, though the canon one's bokeh (blurring) can be quite harsh.

i think i phase my question wrong I was asking how the post processing was done to the photographs to create that dreaming pastel colors? i couldn't figure out how to achieve the same effect of the tone and coloration from the sample pictures and applied to my photograph.

That could very well be true, or only slightly off colours.

Otherwise its really not that hard, just a matter of either playing with RAW or using hue/saturation adjustments.

Okay, here's my take:

Above your original, create gradient map adjustment layer, set it to black and white. Click okay. Decrease opacity so some of the color shows through.
Next create solid fill adjustment layer and pick a medium purply-blue color. Now try soft light blending mode and adjusting the opacity to suit.

I tried this on an image, and it seemed to get pretty close (I use PSE6). I would share, but I don't have any images without skin tones and it seems to wonky them up.

Hope this helps - good luck!
