Here you go

If you sharpen it too much more than this, it LOOKS sharpened. I'm not familiar with PS Elements, but I think it has what I used here --- the Unsharp Mask. I selected the body of the insect and applied the Unsharp Mask to it only.

HTH!

Yep you can tell the image was focused slightly in front of the bee.

I have this saved - a write up - it says this method is better for sharpening than the Unsharp mask.

editing doesnt have to be anything drastic. just alittle something extra to bring out the good qualities of the photo. here i have your original any my edit. all i did was a high pass sharpen and an auto color fix, nothing hard (im not too familiar with ps myself...auto fixes are just click and done). like i said, it isnt anything drastic (you want the bee to look a bit fuzzy, cuz they are...dont want it so sharpened that it looks sharp and poky! just wanna bring out the fine hairs a bit clearer) but you can deffinately see the difference and that the slight sharpening enhances your lovely photo. what do you think?

OOF or not, I thought he just wanted help sharpening it. When the moment's passed by, and you're still learning and hoping that you got a good/decent shot, sometimes it's okay to not have a perfect shot... and to ask for help without being told it's oof.

:sigh: Sorry if your comment sounds harsh and wasn't meant to be --- I just don't know that we should always point out negatives when a Critique wasn't asked for. Help in sharpening that particular pic was what was asked for... so, I tried to help.

i use the unsharp mask in elements..
normally at like 2pixels and vary the levels/strength to suit. as soon as you see white fringing you've gone too far.

best of luck.

ntinlizi...Thank you very much! This is what I was looking for. Maybe I did not make my question very clear in the beginning. I like this fix very much. Well done and well explained. Thanks!

Thanks to everyone else as well, There is not always one solid solution to any one problem. Everyone has good points and tips. Thanks!
