Default .ttf & .rar

i've managed to get my paws on some new fonts.
lucky me,

now, what is the difference between .rar and a .ttf?

can i just paste these into a folder much like the brushes? are there seperate folders for these?

uh... .rar files aren't fonts, they're compressed archives. It's like a .zip only it's usually used to split one big file up into several smaller ones that can then be combined.

.tty are true type fonts. It's an older font standard than most developers currently use.

hm... ok..
I might ditch those because i dont have a clue how to UNZIP or merge these files

anyone got a laymans explaination on how to unzip/merge them ?

If you've got WIndows, there's an open source program called 7zip that will un-rar those files for you. http://www.7-zip.org/ Hope that helps!

You can get winrar too, it's a good program and can unzip almost anything.... almost.

yup. i prefer winrar to 7zip, but 7zip has the advantage of being free, not that winrar is expensive, it just costs more than free.

Winrar is free as long as you don't click 'buy' button when it opens.

There's no built in trial timer, so it just goes forever.
