Help with RawStudio / UF Raw

I keep going back to RawStudio as it has the potential to be more productive, but it seems to be I can get better images using UF Raw more frequently. I'm having the most amount of problems with portrait shots. I just can't get colors, no matter what. I have no problems with UFRaw.

I don't have any portrait shots to post right now for critique, but any tips from the RawStudio users would be greatly appreciated.

Here is one shot I was able to get from RawStudio that I like.



I apologize for the EXIF not being there. That's another problem I have with RawStudio. It doesn't seem to preserve the EXIF data. I'm using version 1.0, the version in the Ubuntu Studio 8.04 repository.

I had left the color management feature off in RawStudio as it is marked "Experimental". I didn't want to deal with buggy software. Turns out, color management has an impact on the colors.

Here's a photo I processed with RawStudio that I think turned out well.


I apologize for the missing EXIF data. RawStudio doesn't seem to support it and I haven't taken the time to figure out how to easily get it back.

I also have a bunch of portraits with nice color now that I turned on color management.

Of course, I'm still open to suggestions for getting good images using RawStudio.
