Offer 8x12 and do not offer 8x10. If so what is your client response to it?

I'm not primarily a portrait photographer, but the one time I sold a portrait client 8x12s and 6x9s I ended up having to reprint much of the order because they couldn't find frames for them at any of the craft stores around town. Since then, I've learned my lesson and tend to sell everything either in one of the standard sizes (5x7, 8x10, 11x14) or sell them matted to a standard size. There are stores online where you can get mats to fit standard size frames that have a 3:2 aspect ratio opening.

When I do a portrait the subject determines the size with respect for the display position. I do matte almost all of my portraits but occasionally women will come up with some off the wall stuff.
