Default Crackle, Antique, Vintage Look, How?

Hello, been away for awhile here, out taking pictures, so i have hundreds, prob. thousands, so far behind. I am a Civil War buff, for almost 3 yrs i have been taking pictures of graveyards, battlefields, reenactments, statutes, monuments, etc. been up/down to Gettysburg, and the Virginia battlefields, and just about every graveyard in NC. Now i see after some time, i have a "style" that only took me a mill. yrs. to figure out, i love love sepia, my question is this, i'm in dire straits, cause i know it exists, it just seems whatever i want, is somewhere "out there", i can't find something to make some of my pictures look old, that is crackled, not the kind you paint on your walls or crackle furniture, but the kind that looks like paper has been wadded up for 150+ yrs. and maybe some fine light brown lines running through it. I must have dreamed it, i just woke up one morn. and said i must find this, can't explain it, it's just that i can't figure out where it is in Photoshop, i use filter, texture, craquelature, but that crackle looks like crackle paint not fine lines or old looking paper. My camera is a Sony DSLR 300, which i hope to trade on either a lightweight Sony NEX or Nikon Coolpix, i want a more lighweight one. Any antiquey help would be much appreciated, this reminds me of City Slickers, i am only trying to figure out this one thing, thx

There's a free software called PhotoScape that has a bunch of different filters and textures that you can play around with. I'm not sure if its what you're looking for, but its free so couldn't hurt to have a look.
There's also the old favourite Picasa, but that is a bit limited.

The guys above me have pretty much answered in that you need to look into applying textures to your images. Tons of online tutorials for that as well as tons of textures you can download for free. Good luck.

In fact, I did a quick search on google for "old print texture" and then clicked on 'images' and quickly found this:
Old Paper Texture by ~nevermoregraphix on deviantART which seems to fit your requirements to some extent.. have fun googling!

Thank you Al, i may never leave my computer now, had no idea there were so many, the key word i missed was "paper", how silly of me, this is so neat, i have that i'm in a candy store feeling now, but will go through all of them, i know i've seen in my mind a background of those lines, i think they were on the ceiling or walls of a painting by Leonardo da Vinci, those fine aged lines like they were cracked only on paper, i guess i must have dreamed it, i really did just wake up one morn and decide this is what i want. Thank you so much, i will get more info on here, i just can't seem to add personal or web stuff till i figure out this place, thx again and greetings from cold NC, Kris

Thank you Kiwi, i will look up Picasa, i must have been living in the graveyards too long, i'm out there more than i'm on the computer, then i get back home frustrated cause my pictures i have to do so much to them, it was much easier with film just have them sent off to the Kodak lab and they came back perfect, after awhile on here, my eyes play tricks with me and i don't see the way the picture is supposed to look and it's always leaning one way or another. I hope to have this solved, and hope i can figure it out, make my picture black and white then sephia it, then paper crackle it, no sleep here for a while, thanks again, do you like your Nikon, i'm switching to something lighter maybe a Sony NEX or Nikon cool pix, they say they do everything our heavy cameras do, lunch must go, tc, Kris in Nc

Another antiquing idea would be to add a prominent vignette to some of your shots. Many old photographs had vignettes, particularly portraits. Love sepia tones too. It helps set the mood of antique.

I don't know which editing software you have available, but my version of PS Elements, there is a setting under effects that has an "old paper" setting. It helps age photos too. Gives kind of a curled edge as well as some wrinkles.

Best of luck!
