That's always a tough one for me. I do it on a case by case basis. Sometimes I'll click to correct for distortion, but other times I find that I like the original better. However if I'm doing panorama shots, I always do the lens correction.

For lightroom's ACR lens correction setting - I have my default set to apply lens correction as it does a good job with CA - I find that sometimes, I prefer the lens distortion, to the corrected version - since there are 3 sliders - one for vignetting, CA and distortion - I can cancel out the distortion or vingetting and leave the CA effect in place. It's taken awhile, but use it enough and you get a feel for how the distortion looks and it gets easier to decide when you want it or not. (For example, with my 20mm lens, distortion helps for 3d landscapes, like in a forest, but hurts with architectural lines, so i tend to like distortion in one situation but not the other)

I just recently started doing it, and there has been only one case where I liked the original/distorted version better. It was a shot taken in a gorge with camera very low to the ground.

case-by-case. I know how some lenses will react in certain situations and what will/wont need fixing.

Case-by-case, as others have said sometimes the uncorrected is better. I find this particularly true with my 10.5mm fisheye, sometimes I want the fisheye effect.
