Default What do you do to make this old/natural effect?

I keep trying to find out how do we make this effect on photoshop?

It is taken from Seattle Baby Photographer | Jessica Hamlin Photography

Do they adjust color/exposure only or special technique required?

it is primarily a color and saturation adjustment. Software like Lightroom or Nik Color FX has presets that produce similar effects. I am confident there are additional adjustments she has done as well.

Hi Bruce, I have been trying to adjust saturation, HSL tone, tint. Everything does not seems to work. Somehow it is difficult to reproduce.

I might trial Nik Color Fx.

I do believe Topaz Lenz Effect has a "similar" effect that you can tweak called Old School Haze.

Looks like a LilyBlue action to me.

Edit to add the link. I LOVE their actions, particularly the "honey" one which seems to be the most popular. Link: http://leahzawadzki.lilyblue.com/actions

If you take a look at the image histogram you will notice that theres no real blacks in the value red green or blue channels. A starting point would be to go into your levels tool and then change your output levels a good starting point would be to slide the black point upwards.

Opening curves will allow you to tone your image for example choosing the blue channel and then on the right hand side pull the top point down. Hop over tot he value channel and pull the middle top upwards this will lighten all the mid tones and give a sligtly yellow bright matte look to your image. This is just an idea for a starting point.

Hope that may help
