Default Old arguement Photoshop vs

I'm sure this has been beaten to death; and I've found a few old threads, but alas. I'd like to see non objective reasons for Photoshop vs LightRoom. I'm sure there are people that only use one or only use the other. (And some that use both.) I've had Lightroom before, but I felt uncomfortable with it and gave up.

Using both won't really work for me cause it'll create chaos in my files. (which is why I was uncomfortable with LR in the first place).

I'm trying to get more serious with my photography; which means learning more post processing; and I'd like to pick one and roll with it. (I'm already VERY VERY adept in Photoshop; but still if LR is better, I should learn it)

Using lightroom won't mess up your files. LR and PS work seamlessly with each other. They are complementary and they are two different animals performing two different functions. Yes you can do many of the same things with each. If you could only get one the choice would be CS5 with Bridge as Bridge add some of the file maintenance of LR. However LR is still better for managing, sorting editing etc. your pics. With LR, your trips into PS CS will be fewer and farther between, reserved for more powerful manipulations. That's nice because working on multiple images is a breeze in LR, not so much in PS.

How so? Anyone I know that uses LR (myself included) seem to believe the exact opposite.

For some reason when I opened it; it duplicated all of my files; then imported them, and then quite literally they vanished inside of LR for awhile. (took some digging). Then; which was my fault, anytime I plugged in my camera, or my card, LR would turn itself on and do it's own thing with importing there too. (Which I'm sure I could've turned off)
