Default Topaz Labs

Anyone got any suggestions on whether to buy the Topaz Labs collection, that is, Lens Effects, Black and White, etc. I would like to especially know about Lens Effects. Is it any good. Does it help make good bokeh? Thanks.

You should go for it. I think you've got nothing to lose and it can really help you with your images. It can be a life saver when you're forced to shot with a high ISO value.

I have the Topaz Labs Suite, and like it very much for the unique effects it offers. But real bokeh is accomplished at time of shot, and not in post processing. The three factors that influence bokeh is: 1)f/stop, 2)lens focal length, and 3)distance to the subject . It can be somewhat faked in post processing with selective blurring with mixed results

My 3 favorite Topaz plugins - Topaz Denoise, Topaz Lens Effects "I use the sharpen effect", and Topaz Adjust.

The Topaz Adjust plugin with the Photo Pop, or Exposure Correction setting is amazing. The collection isn't cheap, luckily I was given it by a friend who stopped using Photoshop, but it is great to have

I'm ready to purchase Topaz Adjust 5 after using version 3 for a few years. Does anyone know if I can install it on both my laptop and desktop with one license, or do I need to purchase it twice?

It looks like no (for use on a second computer).
See here (scroll down)

Use of Software and Online Services
What is the Topaz Labs Terms and Conditions of Use? - Topaz Labs - Knowledge Base

However the Topaz Adjust 4 user guide says it can be installed on a second computer but it doesn't say you can use it (I would take that to mean if you buy a replacement computer you can install it and use the original licence key)

To be on the safe side contact Topaz.

Hmm.. I have a few Topaz plugins installed on both my machines using the same key. So I wouldn't see why not. They might ask you to buy a new license for the second machine, but if your first one works, then screw what they want lol. I know it worked for me, your key may give you different results.

Got a reply from Customer Service at Topaz, and they said that a license is good for two machines . . .
