Default edit this?

So, I'm new to Lightroom and not too good at Photoshop Elements. Can someone tell me the best way to edit the rash on my granddaughter's cheek. Every time I try, it does not look good at all. Thanks.

Um, how about telling her how you did it Tito..that's what she asked for, not for someone to simply do it for her.

In LR I'd use the spot removal tool, and place it on "heal" instead of clone, and try a brush size big enough to cover the rash and see what it does. Otherwise, use several small ones. Read the manual/help if you're not sure how to use this tool

I don't know PSE, so i can't tell you what to do there.

Good luck

OK, OK, Big Fuzzy. I didn't say anything because, unfortunately, I know neither Lightroom, nor Elements. In Photoshop CS5 (if I recall correctly), I used Content-Aware Fill, Patch Tool and Clone Tool.

+ 1. This...
Or you can use the adjustment brush using the skin smoothening option. Choose a size to cover the rash and paint over it until you get the desired smoothness. You can use the letter O to toggle the mask on and off if you need to see exactly where you are painting. Then you can either adjust it using the opacity slider or moving the clarity slider in a positive direction.
Also it looks too red on the monitor at work, so i would correct the white balance as well.

Default thanks!

Thanks for the help, everyone. How long did it take you to just do the rash on the cheeks?

I don't know if you're talking to me, but if you are-- it took me about 2 or 3 minutes.

Anne, I'm not familiar with either lightroom or PSE, but if a Patchtool exists there in either program, it can be done in 2-3 passes, or about 30 seconds

Default sharpen image

Hi, again, I like the way this image was sharpened, especially the eyes. What exactly did you do to sharpen? I've used sharpen before, but it's not as sharp as this. Did you just do the eyes or the whole image?

I did the whole image: I used the High Pass Filter, and set the blending mode to "soft light". You can do just the eyes, but I guess I'm too lazy-- I didn't want to create a layer mask.
