Probably a stupid question but....
So my computer had a BAD virus and I took it in to get fixed. I had to reload all my programs but now for some reason I can't see the photos as thumbnails. Luckily I had all the photos backed up on an external hard drive but now all I can see when I look in the folders is the stock picture icon. The photos open fine and I can see and edit them but not as thumb nails which is annoying if I am looking for a photo. I'm guessing it's just a setting I need to change but I have NO idea how.

If you are in Windows, left click inside the folder (not on a picture) and click "View -> Thumbnails"
Not sure about other operating systems though. Good luck!

You need to download a codec for type file you are trying to view. Do a search for codec and the file type. Well it looks like you solved it without the codec.
