CS4 Bridge not converting .CR2 files to DNG

When I upload my photos from my camera, Canon 50D, CS4 Bridge ( in the uploader they show as CR2 icons only) will not convert them to DNG. I have updated to the latest DNG converter and also Camera Raw 5.7.
When CR comes up it shows it as being version 5.7 BUT when I go into Bridge Camera Raw preferences it comes up as 5.0 and it shows the same in PS itself. I have tried all I can that I know of as it seems to me that 5.7 version should be shown each time, or am I wrong??
Any help or advice would be very welcome.
