I was wondering if there is a relatively simple way to add fireworks to another image. Here's the tricky part: I don't have photoshop and don't have much experience in post processing. I do have Gimp, but again, not much experience with it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Since fireworks are not something you can easily copy and paste into another image, you can create a new layer with the fireworks image and merge that with your original shot. I don't know the specific steps in GIMP, though. In Paint Shop Pro, there is a way to import an image as a new layer, so I'm sure GIMP has a way to do that also. There might be some tutorials on YouTube.

Actually fireworks can be just copy/paste job pretty much.
Just have a shot of fireworks and use levels or curves to make the sky black. Then copy the image to another and set the fireworks layer's blending mode to screen.
