For some reason I just cannot get my hands around photoshop. It just intimidates me. Lightroom I am a master at, but photoshop I open it and have no clue what to do. I have this picture, that I would like to make the green swamp of a pool look like nice blue water. What steps do I need to take to accomplish this?

Tito87 is right on how to change the water color, but you're also most likely going to lose the colors being reflected in the water as well. Everything is going to take on a blueish tone. And you're just not going to get a %100 realistic water color either. You can get pretty close though.
Off topic: I noticed that in the center of the image, the people towards the left don't have reflections that match up lol. The one in white being the most noticeable. The reflection is turned facing toward us, while the person is facing towards the side. Are these multiple photos stitched together? Just curious about that lol. David

You have some folks that are going away and have their head cutoff. But the only one paying attention to you is the guy on the far left with the Colt belt buckle. I changed the water color pretty easily in NX2 but as far as the disappearing people I didn't want to spend a bunch of time on that.

Here's a simple fix for you Kirb that you may find satisfactory.
>Control J for new layer >Select the pool area with the magic wand tool >Image>Adjustment>Photo filter >Select one of the cooling filters, (your choice) and adjust density slider to your liking >finish by adjusting the opacity levels in the layers palette to your liking >flatten This will not destroy or change the reflections..it'll just tone the whole thing to a more natural pool color

Great instructions. I was able to save the photo (for practice only) and apply the edits exactly as you recommended. Looks great! I wouldn't have ever thought of doing it that way. Thanks for the lesson
