I am new to photography in general but got a question on press products.
I am in the process of designing 5x7 Birth Announcements for my sister-in-law/brother. This will be a short run of about 50 cards. Are these done on glossy/matte/satin finish? Does it make a difference if they are printed on a digital or offset press. Do the pro labs use offset for a short run? I can get 50 printed at a place like overnightprints.com for less than $20 or can get 50 for more than double at Nations Photo Lab or Mpix. Any input will be appreciated. Kyle

Do you know and understand the differences between 'digital' and 'offset press'?

I know the textbook response via a quick google search. Can't say I have seen two different press cards one done digital and one offset press to see the difference.
The announcement is going to have 4 photos.

I dont understand why the different system is in any way relevant then. Unless theres a particular reason to use one or the other, who cares? Use whatever is within your budget and easiest. Call around and have some proofs made if it's that important.
