Default Stroke template?

I apply various stroke borders to some of my shots. Usually I create a new layer, apply the stroke and flatten the stroke layer with the background. Then if I want another stroke to enhance the other one I go thru the same process over again, etc. I just can't figure out a way to create different size strokes and then be able to change the colors.

I want to create like a standard size, 4x6-5x7,etc, templates where I can change the stroke colors and then just slide a photo behind it. What do you think, any ideas on how to accomplish this? I use PS CS5.

Would it be just as simple to create an action? But then would I be able to change the colors?

I appreciate any ideas here......thanks alot in advance guys

Here's an example of what I'm talking about...

No reason to reply. I saved the steps as an action and it works great. Thanks anyway....

Default ?

Why do you flatten the layer after creating the stroke? If you don't do that, you can remove the photo and save it as a template for a border. You could always change the colors with the paint bucket tool. Also, if you were to create all the different "lines" in your border as separate layers, you could always change the colors on each of the different lines using a color overlay with styles. Then save off the whole thing as a template that you just open up and drop onto a shot.

Just an idea or two...

If I don't flatten the layer, when I create a new one it just covers the previous one. I tried moving the layers around too and it doesn't make any difference. So I saved several stokes as actions and I can change the colors by selecting the stroke I want to change. It definitely is a lot faster than doing each one separately. I appreciate your reply and thanks.....
