Yes I see what you mean. I'll play around in photoshop, but I don't really know what I'm doing so will see if I stumble across something good

I think there is certainly scope for developing the images. I've done a couple of tweaks on the one that appeals most to me:

1. A crop to remove the other boat, because it is so close to the right hand side of the image. I positioned the orange boat using the rule of thirds and cropped to a 3:2 ratio.

2. A tweak with the curves tool to increase contrast.

3. A white -> transparent gradient in overlay mode to compensate for the bottom of the image being too dark.

On the right of the image you can see three distinct bands. They aren't part of the intended result (although, actually, I rather like them). From the right, you have:

a. Original image for contrast - see that it is much duller

b. The white overlay. To blend it into the image, I set the layer to overlay mode and turned opacity down to 30%.

c. The curves-adjusted image without white overlay (a bit dark at the bottom).

Wulf

ps. all processing done with The GIMP but it should be easy enough to replicate in PS.

Ok, here is a selective color on a B&W conversion. I did not color the reflection as I didn't have the time but it can be done.

Here are a couple I quickly played with...I think something along these lines would be good for this shot.

A little grainy but you get the picture...pun intended!
