Default How do I achieve these sorts of colours/tones?

I adore the muted colours in the photos of Waldemar and Max, and I was wondering how to achieve this look in photoshop? Also do I need to light the images a certain way? I just can't seem to get the correct range of browns, yellows, etc.
Some examples include:

Also, this series by ISKA Photography has a beautiful aesthetic and I was wondering how to get this affect?

I admit, I'm not an expert with PS so please don't shy away from detail, I'd appreciate it so much if you could help!

you might want to do some research on photoshop actions. I'm by no means an expert and I just recently started looking into this myself but from what you've shown, i've seen quite a few action sets that do exactly this. just do a search for free photoshop actions and a whole plethora of sites come up.

Hope this helps

starting with a good photograph, convert to b&w, use color balance and in midtones, add red and a bit of yellow. just a suggestion

Ed makes a good point. You have to start with a good image. All of those have really good lighting which is a big part of the feel of these images.

And it'd be damn near impossible for us to tell you with more detail what to do because we'd have to know what color tones were in the original in order to know how to change them.

I don't know if you managed to find anything already but here's a link that I found which is really good for the muted colours. http://photoshopper27.blogspot.com/2...photoshop.html Just mess about with the saturation on the last layer for the colour effect you want
