Food Photography Beginner

Hi,

I am interested in developing technique in food photography. I have a Panasonic DMC-FX33 camera. I am hoping to upgrade soon, but wonder if it is possible to achieve good three-dimensional photographs with this type of camera. I have taken a few pictures, but I know very little about lighting and depth so my images look very two-dimensional. Any tips?

Hi and welcome!
It is all about the light and shadow and little to do with the camera itself.
I'd read as much as you can about lighting and a great place to start to build a foundation on lighting is "Light: Science and Magic"
