opening RAW image in Photoshop CS5

Just wondering if anyone can help me out here.

I have taken some pics in RAW format but am having problem getting them to open up to view/edit in Photoshop CS5.

I'm relatively new to PS and have limited knowledge of it, so it could be I'm just going about this the wrong way but if I go to Open the raw image it comes up with the following error message :

Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw.
Please visit the Camera Raw Help documentation for additional information.

Problem is, I'm unable to find the "documentation" that the error message references.
I am using a Canon 550D camera if that is of any major significance.

Can anyone help me please?

Have you applied the latest updates? Adobe Camera Raw should support your camera.

thanks for your reply Billy.
After much reading and going around in circles I think it wants me to unload and re-load PS onto the computer. Since it's my husband's work one, I'm not able to do that - so I will have to live with it.
Thankfully I managed to work around the issue and worked out that if I open it with the Canon program, it has the option to transfer it to PS. So that seemed to work for me.
