I've heard it's better to edit in sRGB as opposed to Adobe RGB, because it's more compatible with web and printing. The finished product looks the same on your monitor as it does on the web and when printed. I've come to find that's true, so I always want to save as sRGB from now on.
But here's my problem: I shoot in RAW. I open Photoshop and Bridge, then I open ACR to edit white balance and color. I save as a JPEG. Then I open in Photoshop. Before I begin editing in Photoshop, I change the profile from Adobe RGB to sRGB. And I like this, because when I print, it looks the same as my finished image on my monitor. But when I change my image to sRGB the color and white balance changes/fades due to the smaller gamut. Therefore all that work put into my ACR editing was all for nothing. So here's my question: Is there a way to change the color profile of my images to sRGB BEFORE I start to edit in ACR so that I get the color the way I want in ACR and don't have to mess with it later in Photoshop? If anyone could help me with this, that would be so awesome! I feel like I'm stuck in a rut, questioning my workflow. Not sure what to do. Thanks! |
