Question Converting a colour photo's negative into a positive using photoshop?

Hi,

I'm sorry if this has been discussed before but I was trying to figure out if there is a way of converting a negative into a positive on photoshop. I've looked through some tutorials on the net and some of them require special scanners and I don't think I have this. Any other way using a regular scanner?

I'm not sure on this as I've never needed to do it but I would think you could do a levels adjustment and then adjustment>invert. Best bet is to use a film scanner though. They will do this automatically.

Hmm. I guess it's cheaper to just go to a photo studio.

I use Vuescan software with my scanner and it takes care of this directly.
