Hi - I don't know much about PP so I'm only wondering if this is worth a trip to my camera store....can this picture be helped? btw - i like the flare and kinda want to keep some of it

Will need to see a larger version before we can pass judgment. From what i can see it looks like it was back-lit, and probably would have benefited by use of a reflector or flash

I don't like the darkness on the right hand side...about waist down....and yes it was very much a case of back lit....I was standing on a ledge below her and looking up almost directly into sun....btw- don't know how to load a larger image. thanks for any suggestions

yes it can be saved. easier to save if you have the raw file but it can be saved. just use the dodge tool on a separate layer at about 10% opacity and slowly paint in the dark area.
if you had the raw file then you could just use the adjustment brush in LR3 to try and fix that area.

HA! thats my problem too!! Ive got CS3 on my mac and even the Adobe CS3 "classroom in a book"... life has gotten in the way until about now. Need to get into it even though its two versions old!
