Default PS/LR photo catalog w/varying drive letters

I'm new to Photoshop and Light room, both of which like to organize my photos. I'm keeping all my photo files on a 1Tb USB disk drive. Every time I plug my drive into a USB port, one of several disk drive letters are assigned to it (e.g., F:, G:, etc.) Will this present a challenge to the organizer software? If, how do I mitigate the problem?
Thanks for considering this issue.
Jim

Im gonna be a smartass: Dont use the software to organize your photos. Do it manually.

This is what I do. I manually organize my images.

With that being said, when you plug in your drive is it always assigned the same drive letter? If it is then give it a try to see how LR reacts to it. If it doesn't then is there a way to assign a certain drive letter to it everytime?

Lightroom doesn't follow named disks, just drive letters, you have two options: update folder locations in LR or use disk management tool to rename drive

If theres an auto solution I'd love to know it

They tested it out in vista and xp so it should be the same in 7.
