Question Picnik works with Picasa? tell me more!

I'm starting to snoop thru the massive amounts of photo editing software.

A free trial of Picnik came with my Nikon D5000 & I'm wondering if I should sign-up with Picasa to see how the two work together.

Any tips? Insight?

Cheers!

Well Im by far an expert but I have played with Picasa and Picnik a little. They seem to be very basic, limited, and user friendly. I have also played with Gimp a little. It seems a bit complicated but is suppose to be comparative to Photoshop and is free......Hope this helps.

Picnik isn't bad for online editing of snapshots you want to post on Flickr or similar sites. But for serious editing, you'll want to do that offline, IMO.

GIMP isn't a site---it's a freeware photo editing program that has many of the features of Photoshop, so it's an offline editor, unlike Picnik, where you upload your photos and then edit them.

GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program

Some people swear by it. Another freeware editor is Paint.net.

Again, there are many people who love it.

They're a good way to learn photo editing and they're free so give them a look.
